An exceptionally high quality early 19th century French Louis XV st. Sevres porcelain and ormolu mounted inkwell. Raised by a scrolled and pierced ormolu mount with acanthus leaves surround an exquisite hand painted pink and gilt designed plaque with colorful birds and foliage. The two ink dispensers have the same porcelain floral designs and are decorated by ormolu bases and lids. Original gilt throughout.

A charming French 19th century Louis XVI st. Ormolu and patinated bronze inkwell. The inkwell is raised by pawed supports with berried laurel garlands. Above is a patinated bronze winged cherub seated on a pedestal, with his bow and holding up drumsticks, with drums, draped with fabric, on each side. The drums open to ink dispensers.
