Raised by a square moulded base Marie Antoinette is dressed in royal attire, including the ‘Fleur de Lis” shawl with a tassel and a cameo of Louis XVI. Her hair is decorated by flowers and tied by a band. Wonderful patina throughout. Signed ‘Lecomte’ and numbered 1285/1.

French 19th Century Patinated Bronze Of A Horse
Item No. 3725
A most impressive French 19th century patinated bronze of a horse, on a red griotte marble base, being restrained by a groom. Modeled after the horses of Marly, by Guillaume Coustou, (1677-1746). Coustou was commissioned by Louis XV for the horse pond at the Chateau de Marly. In 1795 these famous horsed earned a place at the Champs Elysees and later in 1894, at the Louvre museum. Wonderful quality throughout.
