A large scale 19th century Directoire period mahogany cylinder desk. The desk is raised by eight circular tapered legs ending with ormolu sabots and has eight drawers, one with a secure compartment. Above is the pull-out writing surface with several open and secret compartments and drawers. At the top are three drawers below the fossilized moulded marble top. Finished on all sides.

A very high quality and extremely unusual French early 19th Century Louis Philippe period circa. 1840, solid mahogany table/desk. Raised by turned and carved supports with original brass casters. At the apron is a large drawer below a lift top and two swing out sides which lock to support the lift top. All original brass hardware. Wonderful rich patina throughout.

A most exquisite French mid 19th century Louis XVI st. solid mahogany ‘Billet Doux’, sweet letter, desk with all its original interior compartments including the original calendar. The desk is raised by a double slightly scrolling ‘S’ shaped jambs, with original castors joined by a straight support. The drop front leather writing surface is decorated by an exquisite off white pleated silk upholstery on both sides. Inside are letter compartments and hinged writing kits. The ‘Billet Doux’ desk is easy to carry and large enough to write correspondence.

An elegant and high quality French mid 19th century Louis XVI st. two drawer writing desk. The desk in tulipwood, kingwood and charm wood, is raised by square tapered legs with ormolu sabots and draping mounts at the top. The apron is a marquetry ‘A la Reine’ with a lucky clover. At both ends is a brown leather fitted pull-out. At the top is a leather fitted surface bordered by a tulipwood border and ormolu gallery. All sides are finished the same.

The straight apron is below a central drawer and at each side is a pull out forest green leather surface. Above the hinged ratcheted rising top has a fitted tooled green leather and mahogany bracket at the front. Wonderful quality throughout.

A very high quality, mid 19th century, circa. 1840, rectangular Louis XVI st. Mahogany, ormolu and brass decorated table/desk. The table is raised by circular tapered fluted legs with brass filettes in the flutes. The legs are also decorated by ormolu topie shaped sabots with ormolu bands. The apron has a drawer, with all original hardware. The top is decorated with a brass border.
Fine mahogany throughout.

An extremely high quality 18th century Louis XV period French desk in kingwood and tulipwood signed ‘Bernard Ebeniste’. This elegant desk is highly decorated by all of its original ormolu mounts which are signed ‘CTP’ including the chutes and wrap around sabots decorating the high slender cabriole legs. At the scalloped shaped apron are three drawers with ‘C’ scrolled handles and foliate mounts in between. At each end are masculine mask mounts below the important arbalest shaped ormolu gallery which surrounds the original leather top. Exceptional quality throughout.

A high quality and spectacular French 19th century Louis XVI style mahogany, satinwood and finely chased ormolu mounts ‘ Bureau Cylindre’ with all original gilt and hardware.
The desk is raised by very elegant tapering legs adorned by detailed ormolu mounts throughout with original wrapped around ormolu sabots. Above the central drawer is an impressive central ormolu reserve. The upper bombee part of the desk reveals a series of 9 interior compartments and small drawers. Then the bottom part flips over the drawer and becomes a stunning writing surface with a handsome fitted tooled red leather. At the top is central drawer with a richly chased scrolling ormolu reserve and is flanked by two scalloped pierced ormolu galleries while above is a three quarter ormolu gallery. Wonderful quality.
