An exquisite late 19th Century Transitional st. Tulipwood and Kingwood inlaid chest. Raised by slender cabriole legs, with original ormolu sabots, the chest has an attractive scalloped apron at the front. Above are 2 drawers finely inlaid with a geometric design surrounded by a Boxwood and ebony inlaid border. The curved shaped sides and back are finished the same. The drawers are flanked by ormolu mounts with designs of rocaille shells amidst foliage. At the top is a stunning green marble top surrounded by an elegant pierced ormolu gallery.
