A most spectacular and extremely high quality French 19th century, circa. 1840, Louis XVI st., white Carrara marble, ormolu and patinated bronze annular clock, signed MARTI. Raised by a circular white Carrara marble fluted base above a chased ormolu base and ball feet. Above is a beaded band and acanthus decorated fut. The gadroon shaped fluted urn of prosperity has two patinated bronze cherubs holding grapevines in each hand, above the silvered bronze chapter ring dials.
