A handsome and high quality large scale French mid 19th century Louis XV st. tulipwood and kingwood three drawer desk. The desk is raised by four cabriole legs decorated by ormolu maiden design mounts above the ormolu chutes and sabots. The apron has three drawers and is elegantly decorated by ‘S’ scrolled ormolu handles and a central ormolu keyhole escutcheon. The top is fitted by a burgundy gilt tooled leather, bordered by a kingwood inlay and an impressive ormolu moulded gallery and corner mounts.
