A large scale and very impressive French 18th century oil on canvas painting of “La Marquise d'Estampe” in the manner of French artist Jean-Marc Nattier. Famous for his portraits of the ladies of king Louis XV’s court he revived the genre of the allegorical portrait, where a living person is depicted as a Greco-Roman goddess or other mythological figure.
