French 19th Century Transitional St. Lady's Secretaire

A charming French 19th century Transitional st. Lady's Secretaire. The Secretaire is raised on cabriole legs with ormolu sabots and an ormolu mount at the curved apron. The front and sides have a quarter veneered tulipwood, charmwood and kingwood marquetry. At the front are three drawers with ormolu pulls and keyhole escutcheons. The drop front 'Abattan' ,above the drawers, has a faux leather book façade, flanked with finely chased ormolu mounts. The front opens to reveal a leather writing surface, two shelves and two small drawers. All below the white Carrara marble top fitted within a pierced ormolu gallery. All original patina and gilt.
