A beautiful mid 19th century French Pastel on paper signed Ernestine Huet (La Fer, France, 1835-1890). This incredibly detailed pastel portrays a mythological scene of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, who was born from the foam of the waves of the ocean, is by a stream with a dolphin at her side. Aphrodite is surrounded by adorable cherubs with floral garlands and water nymphs. The pastel is within a Louis XVI st giltwood frame with a top bow and garlands of fruits and flowers and the original hand blown glass. Available CedricDupontAntiques.com
