An exquisite pair of 19th century Louis XVI st. large scale ormolu sconces. Each remarkable sconce has five ‘S’ scrolled arms decorated with acanthus leaves. The lyre shaped pierced backplate has a bottom acorn finial below a running wave border. Above are richly chased acanthus leaves, scrolls and rosettes.
