A sensational and high quality pair of Italian early 19th century Louis XIV st. rosewood and ebonized fruitwood commode Mazarine. Each five drawer commode is raised by a mottled ebonized fruitwood base with protruding cut corners. Above are three wide drawers with outer mottled panels within a rosewood center. Each panel has a handsome ormolu handle and the center has richly chased ormolu keyhole escutcheon. The rosewood inlaid side is framed within a rosewood border. The inlaid rosewood top has a bullnose ebonized edge. Wonderful patina proportions and warmth.
