A Pair Of Italian 18th Century Louis XVI Period Kingwood And Tulipwood Chests

A handsome and extremely elegant pair of Italian 18th century Louis XVI period three drawer kingwood and tulipwood chests from Tuscany. Each chest is raised on four square tapered legs inlaid with tulipwood framed in a maplewood fillet. Above the straight frieze are two drawers 'sans tranverse' (without crossbar) with decorative quarter veneered parquetry, brass handles and keyhole escutcheons. The quarter veneered side panels are framed in kingwood and tulipwood. At the apron above a kingwood band is another drawer decorated with a kingwood inlaid Greek key design on a tulipwood ,framed in maplewood and charmwood fillets. Atop is the original Gris St. Anne fitted marble top.
