A handsome Italian mid-19th century Louis XIV st ebony desk. The desk is raised by eight square tapered leg with mottled designs and bone inlays of winged figures above foliate designs. The legs are joined by a triple H designed stretcher with a central upholstered foot rest. The frieze has a central drawer and two smaller drawers above two larger ones, all decorated with intricately designed inlays of foliate scrolls, angels and masks. The burgundy fitted leather writing surface is below three drawers and an inlaid background with a curved central reserve of a carved ebony crest. All original hardware and patina throughout.
