A handsome French 18th century Louis XV period rosewood desk. The desk is raised on four elegant cabriole legs with rich scrolled acanthus leaves carvings at the bottom and recessed seashell cabochons above. At the scalloped shaped frieze are three drawers with brass pulls and keyhole escutcheons. The right drawer opens to reveal a charming fitted wood insert. Above is the original fitted gold tooled brown leather writing surface framed within a scalloped rosewood border with rounded corners. All original patina throughout.
