Italian 18th Century Louis XVI Period Walnut Consoles

A remarkable and unusual pair of Italian 18th century Louis XVI period walnut consoles. Raised on four square ebonized fruitwood feet below an elegant bottom tier with an arbalest shaped front. At the rear are two rectangular walnut legs with a protruding ebonized fruitwood inlay. The two front legs are in the shape of deer legs ending in handsome hoof feet. At each side of the straight frieze is decorated with a rectangular recessed panel framed in a charming ormolu band. The walnut top above is framed in a band showcasing the warm rich grain throughout.
