A spectacular and large scale true pair of Italian 19th century Louis XV st. giltwood consoles with marble tops and their matching mirrors. Each console is raised on topie feet below handsome cabriole legs in a satin and burnished finish with cabochons and a foliate scrolled design. The legs are connected by scrolled stretcher with three sensational topie shaped finials. The arbalest shaped frieze displays stunning recessed scrolled carvings and etched floral patterns above two swaging floral garlands. All centered by a crest shaped cabochon with a richly carved nobleman, below the the original scalloped Salomé marble with cut corners. The mirror is decorated with mottled straight sides and topped by striking winged creatures. The pierced top crown displays rich foliate garlands and floral arrangements centered by a similar cabochon with a nobleman and unique finials atop. All original gilt and mirror plates.
