A handsome French early 19th century 1st Empire period patinated bronze and ormolu inkwell, circa 1805. The inkwell is raised by a square patinated bronze base. The square ormolu body with four quill holes is decorated with a beaded ormolu circular border. The inkwell consists of the original porcelain insert, with a gilded lip, and the two original ormolu pounce holders. All original gilt.
