A breathtaking and monumental Italian 18th century Venetian palatial giltwood mirror. All the original mirror plates are set within a dramatic and extremely detailed and finely carved giltwood frame. Below at the center is a fine pierced bottom reserve with elegant scrolled and floral reeded patterns encasing the mirror plate. At each bottom corner are charming cherubs amidst an exceptional and richly carved floral pattern that leads up each side. The large original central mirror plate is set within a straight molded frame, decorated with fanciful scrolls and large reeded seashell cabochons at each corner. The striking majestic top crown is centered by a large original mirror plate encased within abundant foliate patterns and reeded scrolls below the captivating floral top sea shell spray. At each side are elegant maidens casting out an urn of water, with rich floral scrolls and flowers in bloom, all set on their original mirrored backplate. Exceptional detail with all original gilt throughout.
