A high quality pair of French 18th century Louis XVI period mahogany and ormolu demi-lune dessert consoles, stamped with the Crowned C. Each console is raised by circular tapered fluted legs with ormolu sabots and elegant unique ormolu block rosettes. The bottom tier displays a sensational pierced ormolu gallery below four circular fluted supports with richly chased ormolu chandelles. At the frieze are three drawers separated by a reeded rectangular ormolu mount and decorated with ormolu beaded bands and fine ormolu keyhole escutcheons. The two side drawers open outwards on hinges. Above is the original fitted white Carrara marble top with the same impressive pierced heart shaped ormolu gallery. All original gilt and hardware.
