A very impressive French 19th century Louis XVI st. tulipwood and kingwood buffet, signed Forest. The buffet is raised on topie feet with ormolu top caps and ormolu mounts at the curved frieze. The recessed panel doors are decorated with ormolu mounts and keyhole escutcheons. At the center and at each side are finely chased ormolu foliate garlands, and open tiers with ormolu pierced gallery and mirror back plates. The apron, with a marquetry design, has two central drawers and two side drawers that curve out. At the top is a thick marble top and moulded marble back splash topped by a large scrolled foliate ormolu mount. All original gilt and hardware.
