A most elegant and high quality French 18th century Louis XV period kingwood and ormolu Secrétaire vitrine. The impressive rectangular cut angle shaped supports are decorated with finely chased ormolu mounts. The large scalloped apron is centered by an attractive pierced ormolu reserve. Above the two quarter veneered tulipwood doors are decorated by charming detailed cherubs painted Sevres plaques with stunning ormolu borders and open to an interior shelf. The apron is decorated by a finely chased ormolu foliate garland trim, and pulls out to display a fitted leather writing surface. The glass doors are fitted within quarter veneered tulipwood accented with fine ormolu mounts borders and keyhole escutcheons. The top crown and cut corner sides are also decorated with fine ormolu mounts. All original warm patina throughout.
