A Pair Of French 19th Century Louis XV St. Marquetry Bombée Chests

A lovely pair of French 19th century Louis XV st. kingwood and tulipwood marquetry Bombée chests. Each chest is raised by short cabriole legs with fine ormolu sabots that lead up to elegant richly chased pierced ormolu foliate corner mounts. The unique bombée shape displays decorative floral marquetry thoughout. At the front are three rich floral ormolu pulls in a satin and burnished finish. The pulls are situated at the top drawer and two on the door below, that opens to reveal one shelf and bombee shape continues on the inside of the door. Above is the original scalloped shaped Bréche d'Alep marble top.
