A striking and extremely elegant French 19th century Louis XVI st. Moucheté Mahogany and ormolu mounted buffet. The buffet is raised by fluted square tapered legs with attractive fitted ormolu sabots. Above the frieze are two central doors each decorated with carved recessed panels and finely chased ormolu rosettes and Ruban Noué keyhole escutcheons. The doors open to reveal one shelf and all original hardware. The curved decorative side panels also showcase the wonderful Moucheté Mahogany grain and are flanked by impressive columns with ormolu berried laurel plinths, beaded trim and an exceptional scrolled capital with a swaging garlands. The two drawers display ormolu pull with berried laurel bands with richly chased ormolu rosettes blocks at each side. Above is the original Vert Patricia fitted marble top.
