An elegant and rare pair of Italian 18th century Louis XVI period mahogany, ormolu, brass and marble pair of buffets. Each buffet is raised by square tapered legs with wrap around ormolu sabots and elegant brass inlaid fillets. At the center are two doors with recessed panels framed with a most wonderful and extremely decorative twisted ormolu band and ormolu keyhole escutcheons. The doors open to reveal one shelf in one of the buffets and two drawers in the other. Each side displays a charming brass inlaid motif framed within brass fillets. The two drawers above also have a twisted ormolu border with ormolu handles, keyhole escutcheon, and inlaid brass trim. The drawers inside the buffet are likewise decorated. Above is the original white Carrara marble tops. All original hardware.
