A most charming and high quality French mid 19th century ormolu and Sèvres porcelain Coffret de Bijoux. The box is raised by by a rectangular base with concave sides and a rich etched recessed pattern. Each leg is a wonderfully detailed herons neck and head, amidst elegant scrolled pierced foliate movements, centered by smooth cabochon. The Sèvres porcelain box displays elegant hand painted scenes of a man courting a woman, and vivid flowers and fruits. Above the decorative ormolu Les Oves border is the tilt back lid that locks with a key. Also displayed is a richly chased ormolu young boy and a girl sitting amidst floral garlands and Sèvres plaques. The lid opens to reveal the original blue velvet fitted interior.
