A stunning and unique French 19th century Neo-Classical st. mahogany and ormolu coffee table, signed Rinck. The table is raise on three elegant C scrolled mahogany legs with finely chased ormolu paw shaped sabots, joined by an ormolu concave sides stretcher. At the top of each leg is an impressive ormolu panther with a ring. All below the thick Brocatelle d'Espagne marble top fitted within an ormolu gallery. With all original gilt throughout.
Jacques Rinck, a professional cabinetmaker, founded his first workshop in the Alsace region in 1841. In 1871 RINCK the company moved to Paris, setting up at Passage de la Bonne Graine, in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine quarter. RINCK’s reputation for excellence quickly placed it among Paris’ great names in cabinetmaking.
