A most handsome and true pair of French early 19th century 1st Empire Period patinated bronze and ormolu candelabras, circa 1805. Each large scale five arm candelabras is raised by a mottled square ormolu base below a patinated bronze cube with fine ormolu mounts of Pegasus and extremely decorative foliate movements. Above the socle pedestal are striking foliate mounts and two finely etched ormolu bands. Leading up each side are impressive foliate movements with a richly chased cherub and wonderful large wings above, centering a striking pierced ormolu mount. Above the elegantly shaped body are four finely scrolled arms with large detailed acanthus leaves and richly chased foliate candlecups all centering the single central arm. All original warm patina and original gilt throughout.
