A magnificent and very unique and high quality French 19th century white Carrara marble statue, signed E. Damé, 1892. A nude sea nymph rising out of the ocean waves. Her arms elegantly raised with her long tresses windswept and a beautiful expression on her face. With wonderful proportions and extremely well executed.

Ernest Damé,(1845-1920) A renowned French sculptor.
Damé was a student of Lequesne-Cavelier,he studied at the Salon des Artistes Francais and received medals from the Expositions Universelle in 1875, 1878, 1889 and 1900. Damé's sculptures and monuments are seen throughout France; namely on the boul Saint-Germain, at the City hall of Paris and at museums in Paris and Lyon.
