French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Giltwood And Marble Center Table
Item # 6140
A most elegant French 19th century Louis XVI st. giltwood and marble center table. The table is raised by wonderful circular tapered spiral fluted legs with topie shaped feet below richly carved block rosettes and large finely carved acanthus leaves. Connecting each leg is a striking curved X shaped stretcher with a mottled and beaded design centered by a carved rosette. The most decorative pierced frieze displays arched shaped patterns with alternating fitted foliate carvings and fine laurel wreath blocks at each corner in a satin and burnished finish. Above is the original marble top fitted within a Coeur-de-Rai carved giltwood border.
