An exquisite pair of French mid 19th century Transitional st. mahogany and ormolu cabinets. Each cabinet is raised by bottom supports with a double scrolled arbalest design centered by a richly chased maiden face and scrolled pierced foliate mounts to the sides. Above a thick, rich egg and dart ormolu band are two doors, each decorated with striking quarter veneered and inlaid foliate patterns. The doors display decorative foliate ormolu bands and sea shell reserves at each corner with a central overlapping ormolu pattern and fine keyhole escutcheons. The doors open to reveal three adjustable shelves. Above is the original Brèche d'Alep double mottled marble top. All original gilt.
