A stunning French 19th century Louis XV st. kingwood, tulipwood and ormolu side table / desk, attributed to F. Linke.
The table is raised by impressive elegant cabriole legs with handsome wrap around ormolu hoof designed sabots, with acanthus leaves and a fine fillet leading up to richly chased corner mounts with striking ram heads. At the center is a central drawer with a scalloped shape apron and decorated with pierced rinceaux shaped folaite ormolu mounts and fine ormolu keyhole escutcheon. The sides and back are likewise decorated with similar rich flowing ormolu mounts. At the scalloped shaped top is the black gilt tooled fitted leather writing surface, framed within a captivating quater veneered within a kingwood border and mottled ormolu gallery. With all original gilt and warm patina throughout.
