A stunning French 19th century Louis XV st. Coromandel and ormolu chest. The impressive two drawer chest is raised by handsome cabriole legs with detailed scrolled acanthus leaf sabots and chutes leading to the large richly chased pierced scrolled corner mounts. The arbalest shaped bottom drawer is centered by a fine pierced scrolled ormolu mount, below the Sans Traverse Coromandel drawers with fine foliate movements and beautiful scenes of mountains. The top drawer unlocks both drawers and displays magnificent foliate ormolu pulls and keyhole escutcheons. The sides also display Coromandel designs of beautiful flowers and charming birds. Above is the thick original Rouge Antique marble top which follows the contours of the chest and displays a mottled border with rounded corners.
