A sensational and most decorative Italian 18th century Louis XVI period patinated, giltwood and mecca console. This freestanding console is raised by impressive patinated green and gilt fluted tapered legs. Each leg is decorated by a top gilt foliate decoration and a spiral floral garland leading down to the bottom feather design, above a patinated topie shaped foot. The fanciful apron with its 'Entrelacs et les Rosaces' design and patinated green background has a wonderful and bold foliate decor at each corner. Centered at the frieze is an oval relief of a Roman Emperor in mecca. At the top lays the original quarter veneered marble top. All original patina, gilt and mecca throughout.
