French 19th Century Neo-Classical St. Mahogany, Ormolu And Wedgwood Vanity Mirror

A most unusual and rare French 19th century Neo-Classical st. mahogany, ormolu and Wedgwood three paneled vanity mirror. The mirror is set within a mahogany moulded back panel. The front has an elaborate and richly chased ormolu frame with designs of floral patterns amidst scrolls. The frames' four corners have decorative framed Wedgwood medallion reliefs of classical taste with female figures and cherubs. At the top center is a plaque of a male figure on his chariot with horses. The front mirror plate opens to reveal a silk backed secondary mirror panel which is pulled to open all three panes. All original gilt and mirror plates.
