A most attractive and unusually wide French 18th century Louis XV period giltwood and Aubusson tapestry eight legged bench. The bench is elegantly raised by elongated 'S' scrolled cabriole legs. The apron has a very elegant arbalest shape on the front and sides. The bench is upholstered with the original vibrant and rich colored Aubusson tapestry with three large scaled bouquets of flowers with scrolled foliate leaves. The tapestry has a border of acanthus leaf scrolls and central shells.
Wonderful quality and extremely decorative.
