A most handsome pair of French 19th century Empire / Neo-Classical st. flamed mahogany and ormolu mounted dessert consoles. Each console is raised by solid mahogany bun feet below a thick and impressive flamed mahogany bottom tier. The back flamed mahogany panel frames the original mirror plate. At the front supporting the frieze are two columns decorated by top and bottom chased ormolu bands. The frieze has a drawer with a central ormolu keyhole escutcheon flanked by the two upper portions of the columns. Above the frieze is a mottled border below the original Vert Patricia marble tops. Rich and warm patina throughout the mahogany.
