A sensational and most attractive pair of English mid 19th century Adams st. mirrors in satinwood and giltwood. The elongated octagon shaped mirrors have a central bottom reserve with a large acanthus leaf in the center and two foliate branches. The central bottom reserve is flanked by corner giltwood scrolls. The frame has a decorative giltwood rosette at each corner amidst the individual satinwood painted panels trimmed on both by a giltwood beaded trim. Each panel is elegantly decorated by hand painted scrolls, garlands and medallions. At the top crown are very impressive decorative foliate scrolls with flowers that continue down each side. Exquisite quality throughout with the original beveled mirror plates.
