A Pair Of French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Terra Cotta Plaques Depicting Spring And Winter In The Manner Of Clodion
Item # 9591
Category: Objets D'art
A very attractive pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. terra cotta plaques depicting spring and winter in the manner of Clodion. Spring is a classical maiden in a pasture playing with flowers and placing a floral wreath on one of the two charming cherubs. Winter is a maiden seated cutting wheat, with a cherub next to her, pulling down on the wheat stalk. Each plaque retains its original patina and is framed within a mottled patinated wooden frame. Wonderfully decorative.
