A stunning French early 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu, white Carrara marble and giltwood clock. The clock is raised by a fine giltwood base which mimics the most decorative shape of the clock. The base of the clock displays topie shaped feet, foliate carvings and fluted patterns. The clock displays a white Carrara marble base with beaded ormolu trim and swaging floral garlands centering a richly chased fitted ormolu plaque with a bow and quiver. The sides and concave corners display fine unique rosettes while at the center are two detailed and most charming cherubs riding prancing horses. One cherub is holding a trumpet while the other a branch. The horses are raised on fine white Carrara marble bases with concave corners, beaded ormolu trim and handsome ormolu paw feet. The enameled clock face is decorated with beautiful swaging floral garlands, vivid colors and a star shaped pierced hour hand. At the top is a striking tied berried laurel wreath with overflowing abundant cornucopias. All original gilt throughout.
