A French Early 19th Century Louis XVI St. Circular Ormolu Lantern With Its Original Frosted Glass

A high quality and large scale French early 19th century Louis XVI st. circular ormolu lantern with its original frosted glass. The bottom of the lantern has a very elegant pierced wave like design with rosettes amidst berried laurel branches. The lantern has four panels, each fitted with their frosted glass and flanked by double straight vertical bands. At the top of the bands are two richly detailed ormolu feathers tied by a bow. The top beaded band has four 'S' scrolled supports leading to the top hook. The supports are decorated by finials at the base and have a swaging draped design held by rings. The central fut with a top spiral fluted design leads to three 'C' scrolled electrified arms with foliate scrolls. The arms end with a fanciful candle cup and saucer.
