A French Mid 19th Century Louis XVI St. Ormolu And Sevres Porcelain Inkwell

A sensational and extremely high quality French mid 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and Sevres Porcelain inkwell. The inkwell is raised by circular bun supports below a block and chased acanthus leaf. All four sides are decorated by hand painted plaques that are exquisitely detailed with gilt scrolls surrounding pastel colored bouquets of flowers. The central front and back protruding panels are decorated by a charming winged cherub playing with garlands of flowers. The side central protruding panels are decorated with a basket and gardening tools. The top of the inkwell is fitted with three small fitted compartments over a larger compartment which are all removable. The large compartment is elaborately constructed with a Tulipwood interior. All original gilt throughout.
