A French 19th Century Ormolu And Frosted Glass Lantern
Item # 9612
A fanciful and uniquely scaled French 19th century ormolu and frosted glass lantern. The lantern is decorated by a bottom finial below a circular paned ormolu dome. The spiral fluted motif is fitted by the original frosted glass interior. The dome is held by a top band decorated by masculine masks with floral garlands held by central rosettes. The upper portion is in the form of tied fabric and acanthus leaves. The top crown is with grape clusters. Wonderfully decorative.
