French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Giltwood Four Legged Freestanding Console

A most attractive French 19th century Louis XVI st. giltwood four legged freestanding console. The console is raised by topie shaped supports below circular tapered fluted legs ending with acanthus leaves. The four legs are joined by an 'X' stretcher with a central 'Urn of Prosperity' topped by a finial and flanked by two laurel branches a sign of peace. The 'D' shaped console has its apron with a fluted design with richly carved rosettes above each leg while the center front has recessed panel with the eternal flame and a quiver with arrows, a sign of protection and prosperity. At the top lays its original Rosé vif des Pyrenées marble top with mottled border.
