An elegant and charming pair of French 18th century Louis XVI period wall mounted giltwood and marble consoles. Each console is raised by square topie designed feet below fine lightly scrolled tapered legs. The legs are decorated by a beautiful twisted rope pattern, overlapping cabochons and are connected by a fine berried laurel bottom stretcher. The richly chased pieced apron is centered by an eternal flame and a detailed quiver on one console while the other displays a charming hanging woven basket with flowers. Each console displays wonderful swaging floral garlands and scrolled designs. Above is the original black fossilized marble top with rounded corners and a mottled border. All original gilt throughout.
