A striking French 19th century Louis XVI st. Giltwood and marble free standing console. The console is raised by circular feet below finely carved block rosette reserves and circular tapered fluted legs decorated with foliate carvings and a swaging tied fabric. The legs are connected by a beautiful stretcher with an elegant curved design, a mottled border and an impressive central urn with detailed flowers and foliate movements. The apron displays a fluted pattern at the sides and block rosettes with exceptional mirrored Vitruvian scrolls at the front flanking a plaque with finely carved swaging floral garlands and tied ribbons. Above is the original Breche d' Alep Marble top with curved sides, squared corners and a mottled border. All original gilt throughout.
