A Pair Of French 18th Century Louis XV Period Wall Mounted Oak And Marble Consoles
Item # 9616
A handsome pair of French 18th century Louis XV period wall mounted oak and marble consoles. Each console is raised by fine block feet below scrolled movements and carved acanthus leaves. Connecting each elegantly scrolled leg is a pierced stretcher centered by foliate movements and smooth cabochons. Above each leg are carved corner designs centering the impressive pierced reserves at the arbalest shaped frieze. Each reserve displays a different family crest flanked by richly carved dogs. Above are the original Sarrancolin marble tops which repeat the charming shape of the console below and display rounded corners and an exceptional double mottled border.
