A very high quality French early 19th century Empire st. oval shape silver and blue cobalt glass centerpiece. The 4 winged shaped supports raise a large richly chased pierced frieze which reveals the thick fitted interior. the sensational silver piece is centered by berried laurel wreath flanked by female sphinx at the front and psyche figures on the sides. the frieze is surrounded by a fanciful stylized water leaf shaped borders
