A most exquisite and very high quality French mid 19th century Louis XV st. tulipwood and exoticwood inlaid desk with all original hardware and gilding. the desk is raised by tapering cabriole legs with impressive foliage shaped ormolu chutes at the top and similar designed ormolu sabots. The serpentine shaped apron has a large central drawer flanked by two fitted smaller drawers, all inlaid with a floral design amidst reserves. A rectangular top with a thick scalloped moulded ormolu border and a tooled brown leather writing surface.
