A very high quality French Napoleon III period Louis XVI st. ebony, brass, tortoiseshell, mother of pearl and ormolu mounted, dressing table. The table is raised by straight fluted tapered legs decorated by ormolu sabots and chased bands. The legs are joined by an ‘X’ stretcher with a brass inlaid rectangular plateau. The apron is inlaid with a twisted ribbon design flanked by strips of brass on all sides. The top is decorated the same, with a central initialed crest and bordered by an ormolu band. The top lifts to reveal the original mirror and compartments inside including the original movement shelf. Exquisite quality throughout. Length: 23" Depth: 15.5" Height: 29.5"
