An unusual and high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. Baccarat cut crystal and ormolu ‘Clayet’ with all original gilt. At the bottom is an elegant star shaped cut design and above are impressive diamond shaped designs all around. The clayet ahs an ormolu ‘S’ scrolled handle with stunning grapevine shape throughout. At the top is a large ‘Lambrequin’ shaped band with an interlaced design frieze and a Bacchus mask shaped spout. Above is the removable lid with wonderful chasings and pressed designs throughout.
